Karma for the Holidays

The holiday season is here, in all its commercialism, glitter, and good cheer.  But it is more than just that. It's also a time of joyous giving, reflecting and soul searching for perhaps....a better KARMA!

Just what is KARMA anyhow?  Is it luck or fortune bestowed upon our human souls.... good karma or bad karma depending on how well or ill we treat others during our lifetimes?

Perhaps KARMA, or at least the good kind....is what the Dalai Lama shared with the world a few years back--in this short, simple list of::

---INSTRUCTIONS FOR LIFE---

1-Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.

2-When you lose, don't lose the lesson.

3-Follow the three R's.....RESPECT for self...RESPECT for others and RESPONSIBILITY for all your actions.

4-Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.

5-Learn the rules so you know how to break them.

6-Don't let a little dispute injure a great relationship.

7-When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.

8-Spend some time alone every day.

9-Open your arms to change, but don't let go of your values.

10-Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.

11-Live a good, honorable life.  Then when you get older and think back. you'll be able to enjoy it a second time.

12-A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.

13-In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the correct.  Don't bring up the past.

14-Share your knowledge.  It is a way to achieve immortality.

15-Be gentle with the Earth.

16-Once a year, go some place you've never been before.

17-Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other...exceeds your need for each other.

18-Judge your success by what you had to give up...to get it.

19-Approach both love and cooking with reckless abandon........

Perhaps we should all give thanks to the Dalai Lama for this special list of lessons, and while living by them....pass them along to others for a better KARMA, and for a better world.

Happy Holidays,

ARSON FIRES IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

ARSON FIRES IN CONTRA COSTA COUNTY

There is a arsonist in El Sobrante and Richmond setting cars on fire. He
set another car on fire November 10, 2009 in the early morning. The
arsonist has set sixteen cars on fire in the past week. There looking for
a man wearing black sweatpants and gray hoodie. The citizens of El
Sobrante and Richmond can’t seem to get a break. What would make a person
do something like this? This person has to be truly mentally unstable.
The arsonist needs to be caught, before he hurts someone.

MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES

MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES

In the town of Red Bluff California the City Council approved two measures to ban collective and cultivation of marijuana. Red Bluff is a small town, but some of its citizens need marijuana to help with their illness.
Portland Maine is the fifth state to allow medical marijuana dispensaries.
Los Angeles district attorney has proof that cannabis outlets are a bad idea, because some places are selling to people who do not qualify. I think they should crack down and make the penalty stiff; people like these are making it hard on the legitimate businesses. In Salem Oregon medical marijuana users want to carry concealed handguns. This is there right, but it will open up other problems if the person in question has to use there gun. San Jose Ca. is considering legalizing marijuana dispensaries. I think every city should have medical marijuana dispensaries. Every city should look at medical marijuana dispensaries real carefully and put strict rules in place for anyone violators.
