Albany Teacher Who Was Arrested and Accused of Lewd act with former student found dead

On September 26, 2012 James Izumizaki 28, was arrested on suspicion of a lewd act with a child under 14 following reports that he had an inappropriate relationship with a former student. James Izumizaki was found dead in his car, of an apparent suicide between 10 and 10:30 a.m. in his car on Via Alamitos in San Lorenzo on October 1, 2012.  Sgt. J.D. Nelson of the Alameda County Sheriff's Department said a family member who lives nearby found James Izumizaki. The Albany School community is stunned that their beloved teacher and coach is dead.  James Izumizaki was a teacher at Albany Middle School for five years he taught sixth grade.
I’m wondering if he was innocent why he apparently killed himself. Well we will never know if he was innocent or guilty. He took the coward’s way out. I think, James Izumizaki was guilty and he was ashamed.  No innocent person would do that. I’m not surprised some the educators that are supposed to educate and keep our children safe are doing unlawful things. I don’t have any sympathy for any adult who prey's on children.

Cold Blooded Shooting in Oakland at Oikos University

On Monday April 2, 2012, 43 year old One Goh a Korean national who became a U.S. citizen went on a shooting rampage Oikos University in Oakland California killing 7 and wounding 3 people. One Goh fled the scene taking one of the victim’s car, went to a Safeway store in Alameda California where he surrendered to Alameda police. One Goh’s reason for this shooting is that he was upset that he was expelled from the school and he felt disrespected by some people at the school. The victims were a diverse group of people who left their home country to have a better life in the United States. They were from Korea, Nigeria, Nepal and the Philippines.
One Goh is a deeply disturbed man with mental health issues. One Goh was known to brag about beating up someone who tried to mug him and picking fights with people in parks when he got bored. Oikos University is supposed to be teaching people there about the healthcare industry. Oikos University accreditation is in question, because 45% of the students past their test it should be 65% or higher it’s the industry standard.
.
This senseless shooting would not have happened if we had some stricter gun control laws in the United States, like doing a mental evaluation on someone purchasing a firearm to see if their a danger to themselves or others. This senseless violence by shooting is getting out of hand. You’re always hearing about some innocent person getting shot down by someone, who later we find out has had mental issues all along.
You never know if you are going to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. For instance, I work for Streetwise Special Delivery Courier Service in Gilroy California as a dispatcher. We have a client in Oakland that we pick up and deliver to right around the corner from where this shooting took place. Thank God I did not have to send my drivers into harm’s way on that area that particular morning, and thank God our client is safe as well. My prayers go out to all the victims and their families and friends.

RIDES AT COUNTY FAIRS

RIDES AT COUNTY FAIRS

It’s summertime the kids are out of school, their excited about going to county fairs.  When I was a kid summertime to me meant hanging out with friends. Making money babysitting so you could, have money to go to the county fair. It’s a right of passage for kids all over to ride the rides at county fairs.

At the Alameda County fair Seven people were injured on the Wacky Worm ride a children’s roller coaster ride on July 1, 2010. On June 24, 2010 at Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma a workers leg was severed when he stepped in front of  the Wacky Worm roller coaster. This ride is different from the children’s ride at Alameda County Fair.

Are rides a county fair’s safe? At the Alameda County Fair, a chain broke on the ride. Was the ride inspected very carefully? Was it negligence on the part of operators of the rides? I guess we have to wait and see until the Occupational Safety and Health Administration gets done with their report. And for the worker at the Sonoma-Marin County Fair, I think personally he was at fault.

Well people if you love to go to county fairs and ride the rides, I guess we have to hope and pray that every ride we get on is safe. Have a great and safe summer.

STEROIDS IN SPORTS

STEROIDS IN SPORTS

Using steroids to make your game better, and not for medical reasons is
cheating and stupid. Another sports figure Mark McGwire former Oakland A’s
player has just admitted using steroids during his illustrious baseball career. Jose Canseco former teammate of Mark McGwire admitted using
anabolic steroids in his tell all book “Juiced: Wild time, Rampant ‘Roids,Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big” in 2005. Mark McGwire was named in this book as a steroids users, but of course he denied it. My mother used to
say “you can deny, deny, deny it will all come out in the wash” that’s just what happened to a former Oakland A‘s player Mark McGwire. Former San Francisco player Barry Bonds is still denying his use of steroids he should come on clean and get it over with. I fell that anyone using steroids in any professional sports as well as non professional sports don’t deserve to be mention in the Hall Of Fame or any other accolade, because they cheated. These sports figures are setting poor examples for
our youth. I know what steroids can do to your body. It can cause long lasting irreversible negative health consequences. Steroids can lead to premature heart attacks, strokes, liver tumor, kidney failure and serious
psychiatric problem. In addition, because steroids are often injected, users risk contracting or transmitting HIV or Hepatitis. Steroids have no place in sports.

2010 Census controversy

* Description: "Colored Waiting Room&quot...Image via Wikipedia
The U.S. Census Bureau on Friday announced it would explore eliminating the term "Negro" from future surveys, responding to an emotional outcry and passionate debate which questions why our government still asks Americans if they identify with a term that many consider outdated, obsolete and racist.

"My first reaction was that we take two steps forward to take one step back," said Rick Callender, former president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP.  "African-Americans in this country have not referred to themselves as Negro since the 1950's."

Question 9 on the census, referring to a person's race, lists one of the options: "Black, African Am., or Negro."  The controversy started early this week as the Census Bureau started its road tour in New York.

"I wouldn't say it offends me, but it makes me feel uncomfortable," said Austin Jackson, a 16-year old Fremont student serving as president of the NAACP Youth Council in Alameda County.  "It's unfortunate they would use such a clearly outdated term."

Sonny Le, a regional spokesman for the Census Bureau, said the term "Negro" has been on the survey for at least 100 years, and that the form is thoroughly analyzed and reviewed by different offices and advisory groups before being finalized.

Le also aid the decision to keep the term on the form was due to some older African-Americans who still identify themselves by it.  In fact, the 2000 census included more than 50,000 people who wrote down explicitly that they identified themselves as "Negro" in a section offered to provide additional information.

"At the same time, I think it's a good time for everybody to have this conversation now," said Le.  "The census is an evolving process that's supposed to reflect our country.  If enough prople don't want the term used, we should revisit whether or not it belongs."

Callender questions the argument about older African-Americans still identifying themselves as "Negro" saying, "I'd like to know just who those African-American's are."  He says his late grandmother in her 80's, never used the term, nor does his mother in her 60's.

Today the Census Bureau stated that it will gather research from the 2010 census to analyze the effects of removing the term "Negro" on future surveys, and on the 2020 census.

David Glover, Executive Director of Oakland Citizens Committee for Urban Renewal expects the term will turn-off many African-Americans, and may thwart their attempts to improve participation in the once-a-decade count.  Glover adds that he will tell as many as he can to "go ahead and be counted, because that's the most important thing."

Meanwhile, young Jackson concluded that, "this is a good discussion to have, but honestly....there are more important things going on in the world right now."

Being Caucasion, this writer can in no way properly relate to this controversy,  except to say that....my memories of the outdated term come from old movies, books, newsreels and an intense, personal study of perhaps the greatest league of American baseball players in history--who had to wait until 1947 to properly display their GLOBAL dominance!

The "Term" may have been ok then, but this is now!  The U.S. Census Bureau should adjust accordingly, and exclude it.

Thanks,  PeteCam4
