Zully Broussard

I have to say, that every now and then a true Angel appears. That is what Zully Broussard is, an Angel. She decided to give a total stranger one of her Kidney’s and this sparked a chain reaction for six other patients to receive Kidney’s. It took place at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, with the support staff of 40 to do these surgeries on 12 people. The patients who received these donor Kidneys were on the deceased donor lists. There were three parents and child pairs, one sibling pair and one brother and sister-in-law pair. Thanks to a computer programmer named David Jacobs who was on the deceased donor list years ago who received a Kidney from a living donor. It is much easier and faster for doctors and their staff to coordinate multiple Kidney transplants. David Jacobs created a Match Grid that genetically matches donor pairs or chains quickly. David Jacobs said “When we did a five-way swap a few years ago, which was one of the largest, it took about three to four months. We did this in about three weeks”. He is another Angel, think of all the lives is program saved.
When I was sixteen years old I got my driver’s license. Back then on your license you received a card specify that you wanted to be an organ donor. You would attach to your license. Back then I was thinking if something would happen to me, at least I would help save someone’s life. Little did I know 20 years later I would be diagnosed with Kidney failure and put on the deceased donors list? I was on Dialysis for 5 years. Once I was on Dialysis I felt better but being on it for so long it took a toll on my body. The deceased donor list is a long list and the waiting is agonizing. It doesn’t really matter where you are on the list if a match comes up. The match goes to the sickest person. In my case, I was the sickest person so I received the Kidney from the deceased donors list. It will be 8 years October 28, 2015, one day after my birthday. Now I celebrate the day I was born and the day I was reborn.
It doesn’t have to be this way if more people like Zully Broussard of Fair Oaks California would give this generous gift of life. There are currently 123,175 people waiting for lifesaving organ transplants in the U.S. of these, 101,170 await kidney transplants according to the Organ Donation and Transplantation Statistic as of September 8, 2014. I’m a firm believer we are all connected, no matter what race we are. God Bless you Zully Broussard.

Remembering Robin McLaurin Williams

On August 11, 2014 the world lost one of the greatest comedic geniuses of our time. When my husband told me Robin Williams was found dead in his Paradise Cay home near Tiburon, California from an apparent suicide. My heart ached for Robin Williams and his family. People in his life said he suffered from depression. It is so heartbreaking that he felt that there was no one or anything worth living for anymore. Depression is a terrible illness. Robin Williams was born in was born in Chicago, Illinois. He moved with his family to Woodacre, California when he was 16. Robin Williams called the last forty something years in the San Francisco Bay Area his home. I never had the chance to see him in person doing standup comedy in the 1970s in the San Francisco area. He was such a funny man with a warm heart. I definitely remembering watching him on the Mork & Mindy television show. My all-time favorite movie of his was 'Mrs. Doubtfire'. Rest in peace Robin William’s thank you for the many years of laughter.

A Relative Discovers 5 People Dead In Their San Francisco Home

On Friday March 23, 2011 a quiet middle class neighborhood at 16 Howth Street in San Francisco and across the street from Lick-Wilmerding High School and San Francisco’s City College was in shock. The woman who discovered five dead bodies just before 8 a.m., was a relative of the victims she had access to the house. The first body a male was discovered just inside the front door and two bodies a male and female were discovered in the garage, two more bodies both females were found in different parts of the house. The victims were shot and cut by some sharp edge weapon according to the medical examiner. Their names have been released, the two men were Hua Shun Lei, 65 and Vincent Lei, 32 and the women were Wan Yi Xu, 62; Chia Huei Chu, 30 and Ying Xue Lei, 37. Ying Xue Lei worked at Quantitative Medical Systems in Emeryville California. The authority’s first assessment of the scene was that it was a possible murder suicide, but upon further investigation that was not the case. They served an arrest warrant on March 25th in San Francisco and San Mateo County. They arrested Binhu Thai Luc, 35 and Brian Luc, 32. Binhu Luc had a relationship with the victims, and has prior gang ties. This was sad and tragic event for the family and friends of the victims. I hope the authorities arrested the right persons, because these cold blooded murders need to be off the streets. I just want to say just watch who you let into your life, because you never know if you’re possibly letting in a killer.

San Francisco 49ers Heart Breaking Defeat

The loss to New York Giants was heart breaking and it was not one person’s fault it was a team effort. Just because Kyle Williams touched the ball on a punt giving the Giants the ball down by the Giants 20 yard line causing a Giants touch down. The dropped ball in the end zone from a pass from Alex Smith for the San Francisco 49ers win in overtime. How many chances were San Francisco 49ers supposed to get, they could not capitalize on 3rd down. Just think if they did. The score probably would have been higher with San Francisco coming out the victors. All you stupid idiots who are twitting death threats to Kyle Smith it Stop it!!. All you San Francisco 49ers fans hold your heads up, your team had a great season.

Are Cruise Ships Safe?

I say yes they are as safe, as flying riding a train or riding in a car. On January 13, 2012 which happened to be Friday the 13th the Costa Concordia Cruise Ship ran aground it hit some rocks near Giglio a small off the coast of Tuscany Italy; this torn a 50m hole in its hull of the ship with 4,000 plus people on board. Captain Schettino did not report the accident right away. The Costa Concordia hit the rocks at 9:45 p.m. he did not contact the coast guard until about 10:43 p.m., what in the world was he thinking. If he would have reported his mistake right away the six bodies and the sixteen people who are still missing did not have to die. When the Coast Guard arrived at the Costa Concordia Cruise ship the Captain Francesco Schettino of was not on the ship. His reason was that he fell and tripped into a life boat. Yea! Right just like the guy on the Titanic who grabbed the baby. One passenger on the ship Emily Lau said “when we got to the deck, people were just utterly hysterical mostly not because something was scary, but because there was no control.” “It was just utter madness. People were falling because the ship was actually sinking quite fast. And the next thing we heard was ‘abandon ship’,” Lau said. I have been on several cruises and every time there is a muster the first hour on the ship, so everyone on board knows what to do in case of an emergency. A lot of people I come across say they have not been on a cruise, I ask why? And they say because “I’m scared! what if the ship sinks I can’t drink all that water.” If you go through life being scared you miss out on new experiences and having a wonderful full life. Cruising is so fun my favorite cruise line is Royal Caribbean, their customer service is great. Most cruise ships are safe it is not the ship, it is the Captain and the crew that makes the cruise ship unsafe.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY

What really gets me is how in the year 2012 a lot of people still think Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a holiday just for the black people because Martin Luther King was a black man that is not the case. Martin Luther King stood for equality for all people. Martin Luther King wanted a person to be judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin. If there were no Martin Luther King then there would not be integrated sports teams, schools, neighborhoods and work places. There would not be minority businesses, which are still surviving in this economy. Martin Luther King’s message made it where we have a minority President. I don’t understand when some people when they say enjoy your day off, it should be their day off too it is a federal holiday. Martin Luther King Day is a day of celebration a day for volunteering in your community. Here are some events that are going around the bay where you can go. Here are links for San Francisco http://savvycities.com/mlk-day-san-francisco-bay/ , Palo Alto, Mt View and San Jose http://milpitas.patch.com/articles/martin-luther-king-jr-day-around-the-bay-area , in Oakland, Berkeley and Union City http://milpitas.patch.com/articles/martin-luther-king-jr-day-around-the-bay-area
If you have the day off go and celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day maybe you will understand why this day is so important and learn something.

Major Banks Will Not Charge Debit Card Fees

.

I say yes! It is working. The major banks Wells Fargo, Chase and Bank of America with their greed were going to charge the consumers a fee for using their debit cards when they make a purchase. I am a Bank of America customer and I was getting ready to close my account and go some where else; because to pay five dollars every time I used my debit card is unacceptable. I use my debit at least four times a week that is twenty dollars. I don’t have eighty dollars to be giving Bank of America once a month. The Wall Street Occupy movement is protesting this kind of greed from the big banks, but the consumer threatened to withhold their business from the big banks and it worked. Wells Fargo, Chase and Bank of America are backing off from charging the three and five dollars debit card fees. The consumer said were not having it, you greedy S.O.B’s. The Occupy all over America is taking hold in cities like Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose and I see it getting bigger and bigger.

Occupy Wall Street Movement In Cities All Over America

.

It is about time! People all over America are saying ENOUGH! Is ENOUGH! They are protesting some of the wealthiest executives in America jeering, “Tax the rich!” and “Where’s my bailout?” Protesters have been arrested in Washington D.C. for protesting inside a U.S. Senate office Building. In Northern California the Bay Area is starting its movement. The San Jose Occupy Wall Street protesters are remaining polite while they receive citations. Mayor Chuck Reed on Tuesday said he hopes the protesters have an impact on the Obama administration’s willingness “to do something about the lying, stealing and cheating going on in Wall Street, “ he said. “I didn’t hear anybody out there complaining about Apple making big profits, “he said. “So it’s not just corporate greed in general. It’s a little more targeted than that. “San Jose Mayor Reed said San Jose filed a law suit against some Wall Street investment banks for “ripping us off on some bond issuances. “ A city official in Oakland has joined the Occupy Wall Street cause to show solidarity to the cause. New York protesters are demonstrating outside buildings of Rupert Murdoch media mogul, Jamie Dimon JP Chase Chairman and CEO and David Koch oil tycoon where they have homes. The Occupy Wall Street protesters in San Francisco protested in front of the Federal Reserve Bank. In San Ramon protesters, protested the government’s subsidization of Big Oil companies at the Chevron’s corporate headquarters. Palo Alto and Walnut Creek are protesting against banks, because of the bail out they received. Some Republicans are accusing the demonstrators of wagging a “class war.” If they would open their eyes they would see that the economy is not going to improve if they keep trying to keep it the way it has been for years people want to work. I am a person who feels that everyone should pay their fair share of taxes. It doesn’t matter if your rich or poor you should pay what you owe. It is not fair for the rich to keep getting rich just because the government has had this 2 percent “millionaires” tax for years. It is well over due to end this is a outrageous tax and stop given the wealthy and the corporation any more tax breaks and bail outs. It is time for a New Deal, people should be taxed according to what they make and not given breaks because their rich…

Three Month Old Baby Shot And Killed in Palo Alto

Izack Jesus Jimenez life ended in East Palo Alto before it even had a chance to begin. He was shot in the head on Sunday June 5, 2011, while riding in his parent’s car. While Bullets hit the car, Izack’s mother tried to shield Izack and his 4 year old brother from the bullets, but it didn’t help. This was a senseless shooting, by a 17 year old gang member,
who was beaten up on May 31 in Redwood City. This punk thought Oscar Jimenez was the one who did it. It was unfortunate that Oscar Jimenez and his family were the targets of this young punk. The San Mateo County
District Attorney’s Office is deciding if they should charge this punk as an adult Really! What is it to decide on?  I get pissed when these gang member act like their so tough, but when they get their butts kicked the first thing they want to do is get a gun shoot. These gang members in Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose, are punks.  They know right
from wrong and they should be charged as adults.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Another Cheater Bites The Dust

Some Men have been cheating on women since the beginning of time. It’s in
their nature they are a visual sex.  Arnold is in the Tiger Woods, Michael
Jordan, Mel Gibson, Newt Gingrich and John Edwards cheaters club. This
list could go on for days, I don’t have days. Arnold Schwarzenegger after
years of cheating finally bites the dust, his wife finally had enough.
What I don’t get is how Maria forgave and took back this cheater. I am
sorry I could not do it; I don’t care how much in love or lifestyle I
have. The cheater would be kicked to the curve and I would get paid. I say
once a cheater always a cheater. For all you ladies who have the affairs
with married men, you can best believe that what goes around comes around.

President Obama Drinks Beer In Public

President Obama having a beer in public goes to show that he his real and not a phony. I don’t see anything wrong with having a beer at a pub in Ireland. Not like The Queen of England who went to the Guinness factory and turned down a pint of beer. She knows she wanted that beer, those British they have their noses so far up their a-- that’s why they have that scrunched up look on their faces. President Obama’s critics always have something negative to say because they know deep down in their hearts he is doing a great job so they knit pick on every thing he does. I say keep on being you President Obama, your doing a great job.
